Welcome to the Arlington Heights Cowboys Competitive Cheer Program for the Fall 2026 Season! Our mission is to provide a platform for athletes to develop advanced cheerleading skills, boost self-esteem, and build lasting friendships. As part of the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association (AHYAA), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a rich history dating back to the 1950s, we are dedicated to offering affordable and engaging sports programs managed by local volunteers.
Our competitive cheer season, open to students from 3rd to 8th grade in the '26-'27 school year, runs from July 14 to November 22, culminating in the state finals (subject to qualification) at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Practices will be held at St. Alphonsus in Prospect Heights on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm, with occasional extra sessions before competitions. Competitions will take place at various locations within Illinois, all within a 75-minute drive from Arlington Heights.The registration fee includes 3 ICA competitions, 2x/week practices, competition bow, uniform rental, professional choreography and practice shirt.

PERMISSION: The undersigned parent/guardian hereby registers the above named child as a participant in the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association (AHYAA) program. The undersigned parent/guardian, for and in consideration of such child being permitted to participate in AHYAA activities does hereby release and forever discharge AHYAA, its officers, directors, supervisors, volunteers and participants, and all other persons, firms, corporations, associations, or other entities from any and all claims, actions, causes of and all known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen bodily or personal injuries and property damages, and the consequences thereof, arising out of or resulting from participation in AHYAA activities, including but not limited to, tryouts, practices, games, contests, and transportation to or from such activities.
CODE OF CONDUCT: The AHYAA has adopted a Code of Conduct for ALL athletes, parents, spectators, coaches and managers. The AHYAA expects all to abide by these guidelines and the rules set forth in the annual rule book to ensure proper sportsmanship at all levels of our association.The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to promote teamwork, the ideals of good sportsmanship and discipline in order that the participants may enjoy the learning process of participating in team sports. As leaders, it is our responsibility to show our participants the proper way to win and lose, with dignity and self control.Managers and coaches are selected with the approval of the AHYAA Board of Directors. Such selection is conditioned upon the manager adhering to all rules and policies of the AHYAA. Managers are responsible for the conduct of the parents, athletes, spectators and all coaches of his/her team. A manager or coach selection may be suspended or revoked by the Board for violations of the rules and policies.Examples of prohibited conduct are listed below, but are not limited to just these examples.1) Profanity2) Violence3) Any display of bad sportsmanship4) Threatening of any athlete, coach, manager or competition official5) Throwing of equipment of any kind6) Any confrontational behaviorAny infraction or alleged infraction of the Code of Conduct should be reported immediately to the Program Director. Infractions will be dealt with upon review of all parties involved and penalties will be imposed by any of the following: Program Director or the AHYAA Board if needed.Penalties for such offenses will range from a verbal warning, single or multiple practice suspension, or a competition suspension. For extreme cases, immediate and indefinite suspension or expulsion for the person/s involved. Repeated violations by any coach/manager may require that the coach/manager be removed from the team and/or be taken off the list for future considerations.Managers have the ultimate responsibility of the team they have been selected to manage. As such, they have the most control over all the situations listed above. This Code of Conduct should be handed out to all parents and athletes at the start of the year. A reminder of the Code of Conduct during the season will ensure that all parties should comply with the rules set forth in the rule book and with this Code.
