Description
Welcome to the Arlington Heights Cowboys Sideline Cheer Program for the Fall 2026 Season! Our mission is to provide a platform for athletes to develop advanced cheerleading skills, boost self-esteem, and build lasting friendships. As part of the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association (AHYAA), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a rich history dating back to the 1950s, we are dedicated to offering affordable and engaging sports programs managed by local volunteers.

Our sideline cheer season, open to students from K to 8th grade in the '26-'27 school year, runs from July 27 to October 26. Practices will be held on Monday nights, location and time TBD. Most games will be on Saturdays at Pioneer Park, with an occasional Thursday night or Sunday game at Sunset Meadows. Squads will be assigned to game after game schedule is created closer to the start of the football season (week of Aug 16).


The registration fee includes practice shirt, two game bows, 1x/week practices, 1x/week game, homecoming activities, and end-of-season cheer banquet.

Waivers
PERMISSION: The undersigned parent/guardian hereby registers the above named child as a participant in the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association (AHYAA) program. The undersigned parent/guardian, for and in consideration of such child being permitted to participate in AHYAA activities does hereby release and forever discharge AHYAA, its officers, directors, supervisors, volunteers and participants, and all other persons, firms, corporations, associations, or other entities from any and all claims, actions, causes of and all known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen bodily or personal injuries and property damages, and the consequences thereof, arising out of or resulting from participation in AHYAA activities, including but not limited to, tryouts, practices, games, contests, and transportation to or from such activities.
I/We have read, understand and agree to comply with the Waiver as outlined above.
MEDICAL TREATMENT AUTHORIZATION: As a parent/guardian of the registered child, I do herewith authorize the treatment by a qualified and licensed medical doctor in the event of medical emergency which in the opinion of the attending physician, may endanger his or her life, cause disfigurement, physical impairment or undue discomfort if delayed. This authority is granted only after a reasonable effort has been made to reach me. I accept and agree of my own free will for the purpose of authorizing medical treatment under emergency circumstances.

PHOTO CONSENT: I consent to the publication of my child's photograph or likeness by Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association for any purpose related to the Cheerleading program. I understand that my child will not be identified by name in any materials; however, their grade or squad may be mentioned by group. I further consent to the publication of his/her photograph or likeness in current or future AHYAA marketing materials, on the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association website or related sites, in flyers and handouts.

CODE OF CONDUCT: The AHYAA has adopted a Code of Conduct for ALL athletes, parents, spectators, coaches and managers. The AHYAA expects all to abide by these guidelines and the rules set forth in the annual rule book to ensure proper sportsmanship at all levels of our association.

The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to promote teamwork, the ideals of good sportsmanship and discipline in order that the participants may enjoy the learning process of participating in team sports. As leaders, it is our responsibility to show our participants the proper way to win and lose, with dignity and self control.

Managers and coaches are selected with the approval of the AHYAA Board of Directors. Such selection is conditioned upon the manager adhering to all rules and policies of the AHYAA. Managers are responsible for the conduct of the parents, athletes, spectators and all coaches of his/her team. A manager or coach selection may be suspended or revoked by the Board for violations of the rules and policies.

Examples of prohibited conduct are listed below, but are not limited to just these examples.

1) Profanity
2) Violence
3) Any display of bad sportsmanship
4) Threatening of any athlete, coach, manager or game official
5) Throwing of equipment of any kind
6) Any confrontational behavior

Any infraction or alleged infraction of the Code of Conduct should be reported immediately to the Program Director. Infractions will be dealt with upon review of all parties involved and penalties will be imposed by any of the following: Program Director or the AHYAA Board if needed.

Penalties for such offenses will range from a verbal warning, single or multiple practice suspension, or a competition suspension. For extreme cases, immediate and indefinite suspension or expulsion for the person/s involved. Repeated violations by any coach/manager may require that the coach/manager be removed from the team and/or be taken off the list for future considerations.

Managers have the ultimate responsibility of the team they have been selected to manage. As such, they have the most control over all the situations listed above. This Code of Conduct should be handed out to all parents and athletes at the start of the year. A reminder of the Code of Conduct during the season will ensure that all parties should comply with the rules set forth in the rule book and with this Code.
